Flory Kreutter, MD
Dr. Flory Kreutter was born and raised overseas, with heritage native to the Portuguese colony of Goa, India. She attended St. Joseph’s Convent, an elite Catholic girl's high school and college, and continued on to Sindh Medical College, graduating in 1982. She then came to the US and naturalized to become a US citizen. Dr. Kreutter completed her family medicine residency at the University of Minnesota, School of Medicine in 1989, and shortly thereafter, relocated to Denver, Colorado with her budding family. After affiliations with larger health care groups, she founded Cherry Creek Family Practice in 1993, which has allowed her to develop a personalized and compassionate form of healthcare; an art she masters every day she practices. She believes that a patient’s awareness and their pursuit of a healthy and happy life will deliver them exactly that.
Sonya Black, MD
Dr. Sonya Black, of Swedish and Latvian descent, was raised in Sacramento, California. She attended the distinguished, women's school, Scripps College in Claremont, CA, and earned her Bachelor’s studying Science. She then pursued her interests in health and medicine at Tulane University’s School of Medicine, graduating in 2001. Dr. Black completed her Family Medicine Residency through Rose and the University of Colorado and has called Denver home ever since. Upon completion of residency in 2004, she entered a large health care organization, where she spent six years as a family medicine physician. In an effort to spend more time on personal patient care, Dr. Black joined Cherry Creek Family Practice in 2010. Here we enjoy her quick wit and immense wealth of knowledge, as well as her endlessly entertaining mommyhood stories.
Michael Johnson, PA-C
Michael is our New Jersey native, with a deep interest in his Irish heritage. After completing a Biology undergrad in his home state, he left for Philippi, West Virginia to attend the Physician Assistant Studies Graduate Program at Alderson-Broaddus College. This was followed by residencies in New York, New Jersey and Colorado, which he completed in 1995. Micheal then practiced as a physician assistant at a clinic in Alabama, which took him on a medical mission to Honduras in 1996. Upon his return, he moved to Colorado, a place he had fallen in love with during his visits here. Michael began working with Dr. Kreutter in 1999, and since, has attained the title of Clinic Manager/Office Prankster. He considers a healthy diet and exercise to be critical in maintaining a healthy life.
Sue Thielen, PA-C
Sue, a native to the big skies of Montana, ventured out to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado and complete their Bachelor of Science in Biology program. Following her graduation, she went on to earn a Master of Medical Science degree from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. Sue pursued a career as a physician assistant, and joined Cherry Creek Family Practice in 2003. She shares her professional time with us, as well as Porter Hospital, where she performs respiratory therapy and neurodiagnostics in their sleep lab. In her spare time, Sue takes great pride in the ownership of her home, and is always involved in some sort of home improvement project. Sue's passion for the science of the human body has developed her practical approach to health, which patients learn from and appreciate.
